BML POLICY FOR THE USE OF VIDEO SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS IN OUR VEHICLES:

To ensure the safety of our passengers, BML Transportation vehicles are monitored by audio and video recording. Video surveillance constitutes a collection of personal information. Hence, it may only be used for purposes provided by law. BML clearly posts the following disclosure in each of its vehicles:

BML considers video surveillance to be a collection of personal information. As such, recordings are collected and maintained in accordance with applicable law. Information collected through video surveillance will only be used for purposes therein. A trained BML Privacy Officer educates camera operators on their obligation to protect the privacy of its passengers. Recordings will only be kept for 7 days, unless the recorded information has been viewed for law enforcement purposes. It can then be retained for up to one year unless otherwise specified by legal authorities / a court of law. As soon as an investigation is over, the recording should be destroyed.
